About Dr Sara

Dr Sara, veterinarian consult for DogLab

Hi, I’m Dr. Sara DVM, and I’m the Veterinary consult at DogLab.

Describe yourself in one sentence.

Obsessed animal lover and veterinarian.

Tell us about your professional career

I’ve always loved animals. Growing up in the country, I had many different animals. Dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys… You name it.

I loved caring for all these animals and would even tend to them when they were sick.

From a young age, I knew that becoming veterinarian was my calling.

During undergrad, I was met with the opportunity to work at the local veterinary clinic. I quickly worked my way up from a kennel assistant to a veterinary technician.

I graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. After this, I was accepted into St. Georges University Veterinary School in Grenada.

It was here that I was given the amazing opportunity to learn from some of the most well-known veterinarians from all over the world – such as Dr. Chris Pasquini!

I completed my clinical Year at Louisiana State University and finally graduated from St. Georges University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Since then, I have been working at a small and exotic animal veterinary in east Texas. My professional interests including surgery, orthopedic and exotic animal medicine.

I also volunteer my time at the local high school and veterinary technician school educating students. I find it very rewarding to spark the same interest in veterinary medicine that has captivated me.

I also work as a consultant for DogLab, providing advice and clarification on topics and products.

What made you want to join the DogLab team?

DogLab wants to provide the best possible advice to dog owners. To achieve this, they realized they needed an expert veterinarian to advise on areas such as safety, medical issues and behavior.

They reached out to me. After explaining their goal and my role in achieving it, I jumped at the opportunity.

What’s your favorite part of the job?

It provides me with another outlet to share my expertise with the world.

Oh, and I love that they actually test the products they recommend – that’s so rare these days.

What’s your least favorite part of the job?

Waking up early to give advice. I love to sleep in until the last possible minute.

Show us your pup!

This is my precious pup, she is a rescue and has been with me throughout my entire schooling .

We are inseparable, and she even comes to work with me each day. She has become the unofficial mascot of our veterinary practice.
